Gentle Men welcome!
This talk will explore and look at ‘atmo-spheres’ as the sensorial qualities of space. Atmosphere, according to German philosopher Gernot Boehme, is an emotional quality of space that requires the co-presence of person and object. Atmosphere arises between person and object and must be experienced directly. Thea will explore whether cities have atmospheres and whether there might be such a thing as the atmosphere of Sydney.
Guest speaker: Dr. Thea Brejzek is a professor for Spatial Theory at UTS Sydney. Her research is concerned with constructions of performativity in spaces of social, cultural and political engagements. This includes urban and public space, theatre, exhibition, media space and .... our inner space.
