The Women's Empowerment Group would like to say THANK YOU for the vast contribution the speakers were making this year contributing to an incredible success in the lives of all who attended and who had the pleasure to share in all their incredible journeys of wisdom and inspiration.
In doing so we would like to invite all our friends of WEGs to our ANNUAL luncheon.
We invited all our speakers of 2015 to have the opportunity in meeting each other and all our friends at WEGs and join the conversation with this years special Guest Speaker.

SANDY EVANS OAM in conversation with
Guest speaker: Sandy Evans, Order of Australia Medal, 2010 for contribution to Australian music and Winner of the Inaugural Bell Award for Australian Jazz Musician of the Year 2003.
Composer, performer, Tenor and Soprano saxophone, graduated with a PhD from Macquarie University and received a Churchill Fellowship doing research in India. Sandy's composition 'Testimony' about the life and music of Charlie Parker with poetry by the Pulitzer prize winning American poet Yusef Komunyakaa has been a highlight of her career. 'Testimony' was commissioned by ABC Radio, premiered by the AAO in the Concert Hall at The Sydney Opera House (Sydney Festival 2012). She collaborates with Sydney based Indian musicians Sarangan Sriranganathan and Bobby Singh and co-composed 'Kali and the Time of Change'. She composed a major work commissioned by the Sydney Opera House: The Beatitudes, for the Sydney Children's Choir, 6 vocal soloists and a 25 piece ensemble of young musicians. Sandy is a teacher at UNSW and inaugurated the Jazz Improvisation Course for Young Women run annually by SIMA. She is the foundation director of the UNSW Jazz Orchestra. She performed award winning shows touring in Australia, America and Europe. She leads the Sandy Evans Trio and Sextet and co-leads the internationally acclaimed Clarion Fracture Zone.
Sandy's suite 'When the Sky Cries Rainbows' recorded for ABC Jazz-rock won the AIR Award for Best Independent Jazz CD in 2011.
VICKI HANSEN - Musical Invocation
Musician, Composer. Starting out as a musician at the age of four, she plays a variety of musical instruments - keyboards, guitar, bass guitar,Indian slide guitar, flute, recorder, didgeridoo, African and Egyptian percussion as well as Indian classical vocals.
Her Film/TV clients include: ABC TV, SBS TV, Channel 9, Al Jazeera TV, Beyond International, Naked Flame Productions, Awaken the World Film and a host of others. Vicki wrote the music for 'Landline' and 'Dateline' ABC + SBS TV Series, My Sri Lanka (TV series), and many more compositions for TV Movies and documentaries. Albums 'Children of the Sun', 'The Heart of Australia', 'Shaman Women-Medicine Music' to name just a few.
